Our Leadership
StreetWise Studios, Inc. was formed in June 2021 as the result of the passion and creativity of Christopher Szuba. His career began in 2009 as a high school and middle school band teacher in Strasburg, Virginia. His enthusiasm and compassion elevate his students’ learning and engagement, while his ideas connect students with artists, providing real-world experience. Layer in connections with the community by having students and local artists participate in town events and the concept of StreetWise Studios was formed. Students have been able to serve as live sound engineers at local events and even perform as opening acts for show headliners.
StreetWise Studios, Inc. is managed by board members Jason Mendelson and Chris Bishop, local musicians who are passionate about education and enhancing our local music ecosystem, and Vega McMurray, a community collaborator and supporter of the arts, who brings a unique and invaluable perspective to StreetWise’s board.
